Vothonas is a village of Santorini, which is located 3.3 kilometers southeast of Fira.
The bulk of the settlement is like a cave, as the villagers dug their homes in the walls of a gorge, length five kilometers. This is why the name of the village comes from this ravine.
In the cave you will meet Vothonas Wine Museum, while at the lower entrance of the village is the church of Agios Roussos, built on a rock. At Vothona there are several churches, but the most beautiful church is located outside the village and is called Panagia Sergena.
