Karterados is a village of Santorini, which is located almost in the center of the island.

It is built on a ravine, was literally invisible and its houses are like a cave! For this reason they used it to trap the pirates, from which derives its name.

Karterados overlooks the east side of the island and extends in front of a large valley with vineyards. In the center of Karterados stands the church of the  Ascension of Christ. The village is divided into two parts: the main part and the Vounitso.
