The Museum of Prehistoric Thera is located in Fira and is considered one of the most important in Greece.

It was launched in March 2000 and has findings from the excavations of the Archaeological Society at Akrotiri.

Among the most impressive exhibits are the famous wall paintings and the unique gold ibex figurine found in private and public buildings in the city of Akrotiri, and you will see also jewelry, pottery, stone utensils.
